The Spanish Government has denied having received any formal request from King Felipe VI to visit Ceuta amid the ongoing migration crisis. Government spokesperson Elma Saiz stated that the Royal House is responsible for its own agenda and that the Executive has not placed any obstacles to a royal visit.

This stance contrasts with statements from opposition leader Alberto Núñez Feijóo, who expressed conviction that the King intends to visit the autonomous city to address the humanitarian and security situation. Feijóo has also criticized the government's management, proposing measures such as lockdowns and the expulsion of irregular migrants.
