Spanish Government officials to skip Formula 1 Grand Prix

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez and his 22 ministers will not attend the Formula 1 Spanish Grand Prix held at the Madrid circuit this Sunday. While King Felipe VI, Queen Letizia, and Infanta Sofía are confirmed to attend, the executive branch has decided not to send any high-ranking representatives.

Government sources indicate that Fernando Molinero, the Director General of Sports, will be the highest-ranking government official present, unless last-minute changes occur. The absence of senior ministers is attributed to a scheduling conflict with other major sporting events. Minister Milagros Tolón is currently in Germany with the Spanish women's basketball team, and the President of the Higher Sports Council, José Manuel Rodríguez Uribes, is in Granada for the final stage of the Vuelta a España.
