Spanish hairdressing professionals showcase talent in Vilagarcía and Dubai

The first edition of ‘La Batalla Trending’, a professional hairdressing and barbering competition, recently took place at the Fexdega fairgrounds in Vilagarcía. Organized by Miguel Castro and Alexander Fernández, the event drew approximately 50 professionals from Spain, Portugal, and Romania. The competition featured three categories: ‘young legends’ for barbers under 25, a hair and beard cutting category, and a team-based ‘total look’ competition.

In a separate development for the Spanish hair industry, three finalists for the Spanish Hairdresser of the Year 2026—Jorge X, Rafael Bueno, and Carlos Valiente—are set to perform at Beautyworld Dubai on October 8. The show, titled ‘Spanish World Champions of Hair’, aims to showcase Spanish technical innovation and contemporary hairdressing styles to an international audience.
