Spanish health agency recalls Daen men's hair removal cream

The Spanish Agency for Medicines and Health Products (AEMPS) has ordered the market withdrawal of all batches of Daen Crema Depilatoria for Men. The recall, issued by the Ministry of Health, was prompted by safety concerns regarding the product's usage instructions rather than its chemical composition.

The previous labeling allowed consumers to apply the cream to multiple large body areas—such as the chest, back, arms, or legs—within a single day. AEMPS determined that this practice could lead to skin exposure levels exceeding the safety limits established during the cosmetic's evaluation, posing a potential health risk.

Laboratorios Ibercosmetic S. L., the company responsible for the product, has since updated the labeling to ensure safe use. The revised instructions prohibit applying the cream to more than one large area on the same day and require a minimum of one week between applications to the same area. Following these corrections, the product has been permitted to resume commercialization.
