Spanish health associations host community awareness events
In Torrelavega, the AMAT-Afrontando Adicciones association held its 39th annual march to raise awareness about addictive behaviors, including both substance and non-substance addictions. The five-kilometer event, which started and ended at Bulevar Demetrio Herrero, aimed to support individuals in recovery and their families while promoting physical activity as a healthy alternative to addiction. The march also served as a fundraiser for the association’s prevention and treatment programs.
Separately, the El Puente TDAH association has announced an open house and community day scheduled for October 25 in Puente Genil. Under the motto ‘Conoce, comparte, forma parte’ (Know, share, be part), the event aims to educate the public about ADHD, provide resources for families, and build a volunteer network. The program includes a colloquium featuring parents sharing their experiences, child leisure activities, and a communal lunch to foster social connections.
