Bone marrow donor registration campaigns expand in Spain and Paraguay

Various organizations are launching initiatives to increase bone marrow donor registration to assist patients with hematological diseases. In Cartagena, Spain, the UMEdula 2026 event, led by the Military Emergency Unit, set a new record with 150 new registrations in a single day, a 50 percent increase from the previous year. The campaign specifically targeted individuals between 18 and 40 years old.

In the Valencian Community, ASLEUVAL has partnered with several sports clubs, including Valencia Basket and Levante UD, to raise awareness ahead of World Bone Marrow Donor Day on September 22. Similarly, in Paraguay, the Fundación Carlos Chytil, in collaboration with SENETÉ and the National Institute of Ablation and Transplantation (INAT), is conducting a registration campaign titled “La vida después de la suerte” at local shopping centers to expand the national and international donor database.
