Spanish heritage and Netflix production spotlight Madrid locations
The medieval town of Buitrago del Lozoya in the Community of Madrid features a well-preserved 11th-century walled enclosure. The town also houses the Museo Picasso – Colección Eugenio Arias, which contains drawings and ceramics gifted to Arias, a close friend and hairdresser of Pablo Picasso during the artist's exile in France.
In related cultural news, Netflix is set to release the series ‘Grande de España’ on October 23. The eight-episode production utilized various historic locations across Madrid, including the Palacio de la Trinidad in the Salamanca district, the Casino de Madrid on Alcalá Street, and the BBVA building. Filming also extended to Alcalá de Henares to provide a contrast between aristocratic settings and more modest neighborhoods.
