Spanish Higher Sports Council announces 2025 National Sports Award winners
The Spanish Higher Sports Council (CSD) has announced the winners of the 2025 National Sports Awards. MotoGP world champion Marc Márquez and artistic swimmer Iris Tió have been named the best athletes of the year, receiving the King Felipe and Queen Letizia awards, respectively.
Other notable recipients include Anastasiya Dmytriv, who won the Princess Leonor award for the best athlete under 18, and cyclist Paula Ostiz, who received the King Juan Carlos award as the breakout athlete of the year. The Infanta Sofía award, recognizing sports for people with disabilities, was granted to the Relevo Paralímpico program.
In conjunction with these honors, the CSD has launched a public tender valued at approximately 282,830 euros to supply the trophies and medals for these prestigious awards, including the King, Queen, and Princess of Asturias trophies, as well as the restoration of original awards.
