Spanish hospitals achieve new medical and academic accreditations
Hospital Sanitas CIMA in Barcelona has been designated as a university hospital by the Universitat Internacional de Catalunya (UIC). This partnership allows medical students to conduct practical training at the CIMA Campus and its associated medical centers, including Robresa, Boreal, Provença, and Imperial Tarraco. The collaboration aims to integrate clinical practice, professional training, and clinical research to strengthen the hospital's role as a high-complexity medical center.
In Tudela, the Hospital Reina Sofía has become the first hospital in Navarra to receive the IHAN-UNICEF accreditation. This international recognition, supported by the World Health Organization and UNICEF, certifies the facility's commitment to humanized childbirth and breastfeeding support. The accreditation follows a multi-year process involving specialized care such as immediate skin-to-skin contact after birth and continuous support for breastfeeding and maternal-infant health.
