Spanish hospitals invest in advanced medical technology

Spanish healthcare facilities are implementing advanced medical technologies to enhance surgical precision and diagnostic capabilities.

The Hospital Universitario Mancha Centro in Alcázar de San Juan has integrated a new neuro-navigation system into its Otorhinolaryngology Service. Representing a 120,000 euro investment, the technology acts as a ‘surgical GPS,’ allowing specialists to track instruments in real time against pre-operative CT or MRI maps. This system is particularly vital for complex procedures near delicate structures like the eye orbit or brain, including endoscopic sinus surgeries and treatments for trigeminal neuralgia.

In Valencia, Ascires Grupo Biomédico is launching a new hospital with a total investment exceeding 125 million euros. Approximately one-third of this budget, over 40 million euros, is dedicated to advanced medical technology. The facility aims to prioritize minimally invasive procedures, artificial intelligence, and precision medicine, featuring advanced hybrid operating rooms to improve diagnostic accuracy and patient recovery speeds.
