Spanish hospitals modernize clinical laboratories through automation

Spanish hospitals are undergoing significant technological transformations in their clinical laboratories to improve diagnostic speed and precision. Through the Siemens Healthineers initiative ‘InsideTheLab’, facilities such as the Área Sanitaria de A Coruña e Ecea are working to automate processes and reduce manual tasks to meet increasing healthcare demands.

In the Basque Country, the Hospital de Galdakao-Usansolo is modernizing its laboratory with a 16 million euro investment from Osakidetza. This upgrade focuses on automation and connectivity to enhance sample traceability, optimize internal workflows, and reduce the time between test requests and result availability. These advancements aim to provide healthcare professionals with faster clinical information to support diagnosis and treatment decisions.
