Spanish industrial sectors focus on defense and aerospace integration
Regional industrial leaders in Spain are working to integrate local companies into defense and aerospace supply chains. In Aragon, six companies—Aldebarán Sistemas, Alot Metal, CMASA, Equimodal, Pronimetal, and UMEC—participated in the IV TEDAE Business Meetings in Madrid. Supported by the Government of Aragon through its Defense Hub, these firms engaged in networking and bilateral meetings to present technologies and establish strategic contacts within the high-value technological sector.
In Catalonia, the Defense Engineering Forum 2026 held in Badalona brought together over 300 professionals from 150 companies and representatives from the Ministry of Defense. The forum addressed the challenges Catalan industry faces in securing military contracts, including the lack of large lead companies, the small size of many SMEs, financing needs, and the complexities of highly regulated markets. Discussions focused on leveraging advanced engineering, artificial intelligence, supercomputing, and telecommunications to meet national and European defense program requirements.
