Spanish industrial vehicle workshops report shift toward fleet customers
A market perception study of 324 industrial vehicle repair workshops across Spain shows most mechanics reporting higher billing (72%) and activity (55%) over the past two years. The sector is increasingly oriented toward professional fleet clients, with workshops reducing the number of spare‑part suppliers they use—from an average of 3.47 in 2024 to 3.07 in 2026—and passing most cost increases on to customers. Respondents also flag a shortage of qualified professionals as a key long‑term threat.
Separately, the Provincial Association of Vehicle Repair Workshops in Guadalajara, together with the Spanish Confederation of Workshops (CETRAA), has launched a summer‑road‑safety campaign. It urges drivers to perform preventive maintenance before summer trips, emphasizing that vehicle age is not the safety factor; neglect of maintenance is. CETRAA vice‑president Antonio Atiénzar warned, "there is a false belief that an old vehicle is unsafe; what makes a car unsafe is neglecting its maintenance." The campaign highlights checks on tyres, brakes, battery, cooling and climate systems and warns against illegal workshops.
