Spanish industry and logistics sectors prioritize cybersecurity

Industrial and logistics sectors in Spain are facing increased digital threats and new regulatory requirements, prompting a focus on strengthening cybersecurity across supply chains.

At a recent seminar hosted by Asime in Vigo, experts discussed the integration of IT and OT environments and the necessity of complying with the European NIS2 directive and the Cyber Resilience Act. The discussion highlighted that digitalization has expanded exposure surfaces, particularly in facilities with long equipment lifecycles. Key recommendations included identifying critical risks, establishing responsibilities, and preparing incident response plans.

Simultaneously, the Centro Español de Logística (CEL), in collaboration with Zaragoza Logistics Center and GMV, released a study titled ‘Cybersecurity in the supply chain. Resilience as a collective property of the logistics ecosystem’. The study analyzes the current state of cybersecurity in Spanish supply chains, identifying vulnerabilities in warehouses and machinery. It aims to provide a practical framework for professionals in logistics, technology, and operations to improve response capabilities against cyber risks.
