Spanish infrastructure projects advance with major construction tenders
Several major infrastructure projects in Spain have entered critical bidding stages. In Gran Canaria, the Cabildo de Gran Canaria has begun evaluating bids for the renovation and expansion of the Estadio de Gran Canaria. The contract, valued at approximately 235 million euros, includes several competing consortiums such as Ferrovial, OHL, and Sacyr. The project involves comprehensive structural renovations, electrical installations, and urban development, with works potentially starting in January 2027.
In Torrevieja, ten companies are competing for a contract exceeding 11 million euros to execute the Auditorio de Habaneras project. This tender encompasses the urbanization of Calle Salero and the Varadero, alongside essential upgrades to electrical, water, and drainage networks. The bidding process has moved forward after the local contracting board unanimously admitted ten companies, including Abala Infraestructuras and Eiffage Infraestructuras, to proceed after verifying their administrative documentation.
