Spanish investment models support SMEs and startups

Spanish business entities are highlighting different models of support and investment for SMEs and startups. Mirai, an investment firm, received recognition at the Euskadi Sariak awards for its focus on industrial investment, long-term vision, and active management. The firm aims to consolidate companies to maintain decision-making centers within the Basque Country, specifically targeting companies with growth potential and unresolved family succession issues.

Meanwhile, Enisa, a public entity under the Ministry of Industry and Tourism, continues its 45-year mission of financing innovative SMEs and startups. Led by CEO Carolina Rodríguez, Enisa provides participatory loans ranging from 25,000 to 1.5 million euros without requiring collateral or equity dilution. The organization has financed approximately 8,200 companies in Spain, totaling 1.5 billion euros, focusing on the viability of the business project and the leadership team rather than traditional guarantees.
