Spanish judge indicts four former ETA leaders for Santa Pola attack

Antonio Piña, a judge of the Spanish National Court, has indicted four former leaders of the terrorist organization ETA for the 2002 attack on a Civil Guard barracks in Santa Pola, Alicante. The attack resulted in the deaths of two people, including a six-year-old girl, and caused dozens of injuries.

The indicted individuals are María Soledad Iparraguirre (alias Anboto), Juan Antonio Olarra Guridi, Félix Ignacio Esparza Luri, and Ainhoa Múgica Goñi. They face charges of terrorist murder, injuries, and terrorist damage. The judge noted that evidence of criminality against the group's leadership has been reinforced following recent investigations.

The ruling extends responsibility to the members of the terrorist group's executive committee, known as Zuba. While the material perpetrators have already been convicted, the judge determined the attack was made possible through the coordinated actions of ETA's various organs under Zuba's directives.

Specific roles identified include Olarra Guridi and Múgica Goñi leading the Otsagi military structure, Esparza Luri managing the logistics apparatus, and Iparraguirre overseeing the financial department.
