Spanish Labor Inspectorate regularizes record 47,143 false self-employed workers

The Spanish Labor Inspectorate has regularized 47,143 false self-employed workers in 2025, marking an eight-year high and a sixfold increase compared to 2024. This surge is attributed to intensified controls on digital delivery and service platforms, following the legal framework established by the ‘rider law’ in 2021.

According to the annual report published by the Ministry of Labor, the inspectorate recovered 1,212.3 million euros in Social Security contributions. Proposed sanctions for social order infractions rose by 58.62% over the previous year, reaching 858.26 million euros. The agency completed over 1.2 million actions, uncovering 131,645 irregular jobs and inspecting 427,495 workplaces.
