Spanish local police issue calls for civic responsibility

Local police forces in Almansa and Cuenca are issuing calls for civic responsibility following various infractions of municipal regulations.

In Almansa, authorities have filed a report against a resident for abandoning bulky items in public spaces. The police reminded citizens that abandoning furniture or appliances on the street is an offense and noted that the city provides a free collection service for such items on Tuesdays and Thursdays, which must be requested via telephone.

In Cuenca, the local police have warned against illegal parking on sidewalks during the city's ongoing fairs and festivals. Authorities noted that unauthorized parking on pedestrian zones endangers walkers, particularly those with reduced mobility or strollers, by forcing them into the roadway and damaging pavement.
