ISA World Longboard Championship 2026 progresses in El Salvador
The 2026 ISA World Longboard Championship is currently underway at El Sunzal, El Salvador, featuring international competitors vying for titles. The event, which runs until October 22, utilizes specialized judging and camera replay systems to evaluate the elegance and balance required for longboard maneuvers.
In the competition, Brazil’s Chloé Calmon and Alexandre Escobar have advanced to the fourth phase of the main event, placing them within two heats of the finals. Meanwhile, Spain’s Nicolás García and Julieta Rodríguez-Villamil remain in contention following recent repechage rounds.
Alejo Campos, director of Surf City, noted that the selection of El Sunzal was based on wave characteristics, water temperature, and tourism infrastructure. The championship is intended to promote Salvadoran beaches and provide economic benefits to local host communities.
