Spanish mechanic exposes fraudulent service practices at authorized Opel dealership
Mario Diaz, owner of Garage 13 Competition and a specialist in PureTech engines, has exposed fraudulent practices at an authorized Opel service center in Valencia, Spain. After a customer brought in an Opel with a 1.2 PureTech engine for routine maintenance, Diaz discovered that the dealership had charged for the replacement of oil and air filters without actually performing the service.
Upon dismantling the engine, Diaz found the original PSA oil filter and the air filter remained untouched, dirty, and unreplaced, despite the customer having paid for them on a formal invoice. The incident has raised significant concerns regarding the reliability of authorized service centers, which often charge higher premiums than independent workshops under the premise of guaranteed quality and security.
