Spanish media groups expand content reach via streaming deals

Spanish audiovisual groups are expanding the reach of their content through new streaming partnerships.

acontra+, the streaming service from A Contracorriente Films, has reached an agreement with Mediterráneo Mediaset España Group. Starting in September, the platform will add 40 titles to its catalog, including 13 series and 27 films. Notable additions include the series ‘Vientos de agua’, ‘Señoras del (h)AMPA’, and ‘Hermanas’, alongside various feature films.

Separately, Atresmedia has expanded its alliance with Netflix in Spain. Popular formats and fiction titles such as ‘El Hormiguero’, ‘El Intermedio’, ‘Pasapalabra’, and the daily series ‘Sueños de libertad’ will become available on demand following their linear broadcast. This move is part of Atresmedia’s strategy to extend content lifecycle through international platform agreements.
