Spanish medical congresses focus on personalized medicine and longevity
Medical professionals in Spain are gathering for major congresses focused on the future of personalized and preventive healthcare.
In Madrid, the XXIV International Congress of the Spanish Society of Anti-Aging and Longevity Medicine (SEMAL) brought together over 80 specialists. Discussions centered on advancements in longevity, including liquid biopsies, cellular reprogramming, and the use of artificial intelligence, genetics, and epigenetics to tailor medical strategies to individual biological profiles. New diagnostic tools, such as whole-body MRI, were also highlighted as key to monitoring aging.
Simultaneously, the 48th National Congress of SEMERGEN is being held in Santiago de Compostela, hosting approximately 4,700 family medicine professionals. The event addresses challenges in the specialty, including chronic disease management, innovation, and the integration of AI. The congress emphasizes the role of family medicine as a personalized, lifelong pillar of the healthcare system, while also hosting public activities like CPR training.
