Spanish midfielders Mikel Goti and Marc Guiu look to secure more playing time

Mikel Goti, a 22‑year‑old midfielder at Real Sociedad, has rejected a further loan and opted to remain with the club despite limited minutes in recent friendlies. With two years left on his contract, he intends to compete for a place in a crowded midfield as the team prepares for a schedule that includes the Europa League and domestic fixtures.

Marc Guiu, a 20‑year‑old forward from Granollers, returned early from a loan at Sunderland and struggled for minutes at Chelsea under new manager Xabi Alonso. After a brief spell in which he scored three goals and provided two assists, the club’s recent signings pushed him down the pecking order.
