Jordi Hereu industrial grants electric vehicle charging Spain recovery plan

Industry and Tourism Minister Jordi Hereu announced the allocation of €128.8 million in provisional subsidies to 107 projects under the Industrial Value Chain Incentive Programme, part of Component 12 of Spain’s Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan. Notable recipients include Renault in Palencia (€10.6 million), Noel in Girona (€7.9 million), Aluminios Cortizo in A Coruña (€7 million) and Frutas del Segre in Lleida (€4.9 million). The programme aims to enhance competitiveness by fostering research, sustainability, energy efficiency and digitalisation, bringing total grants to €165 million for 137 projects.

Later, Hereu inaugurated a new ultra‑fast electric‑vehicle charging station on the AP‑9 highway in the municipality of Culleredo, A Coruña. The Atlante España installation, together with a second site in San Simón (Pontevedra), forms Galicia’s largest fast‑charging network with 32 points. Hereu highlighted that electric‑car sales now account for 21.8 % of vehicle sales in Spain and stressed the transition to electric mobility as essential for the country’s industrial future.
