Spanish Ministry of Defense begins new military training cycle
The Spanish Ministry of Defense has initiated the second training cycle of 2026 for new professional soldiers and sailors.
In Almería, 83 young people, including 65 men and 18 women, successfully passed the selection process. Of these, 53 will serve in local units within the province, primarily within the Legion at the Álvarez de Sotomayor base in Viator. The majority of Almería recruits will join the Army, with additional placements in the Navy and the Air and Space Force.
Simultaneously, the Troop Training Center number 1 (Cefot 1) in Cáceres is preparing to welcome a new promotion of aspirants at the Santa Ana barracks. These recruits will undergo an initial adaptation period through November 16, focusing on military discipline, physical preparation, and weaponry, before moving on to specialized training for their specific roles.
