Spanish municipal administrations face criticism over labor transparency and unpaid benefits

The UGT union has denounced a lack of transparency regarding the employment pools managed by the Cádiz City Council. The organization claims that the criteria used for job calls are “subjective and little demonstrable,” causing uncertainty for applicants. UGT is calling for greater clarity and guarantees so that candidates can understand how selection processes are conducted.

In Córdoba, the PSOE has called on Mayor José María Bellido to settle outstanding retirement bonuses for municipal employees. Spokesperson Antonio Hurtado stated that more than 250 retirees have been waiting for these payments despite existing regulations. The opposition criticized the municipal government's management, citing delays in retirement bonuses, salary updates, and other administrative processes.
