Spanish municipal libraries host cultural programs for Library Day

Municipal libraries in Mogán and Miguelturra are hosting diverse cultural programs to commemorate Library Day.

In Mogán, activities scheduled from October 19 to 30 will focus on the ‘Generation of 27’ in the Canary Islands. The program includes an exhibition at the Arguineguín Municipal Library, guided tours by Juan Carlos Saavedra, and literary presentations by Andrés Monroy Caballero and Juan Ramírez Hernández. Oral storytelling sessions will be held across various schools and centers, alongside the ‘Biblioplaya-Bookcrossing’ project, which introduces free book exchange shelves at El Perchel, Puerto Rico, and Mogán beaches.

In Miguelturra, the ‘Casa de la Capellanía’ Public Municipal Library will hold a week of events from October 19 to 23. The schedule features a creative writing workshop, children's literary encounters with author Laura Vila, and talks focused on female researchers and writers, such as ‘Musas sin firma’ by María Pilar García Arroyo and a lecture by Rafael Sánchez Espinosa.
