Spanish municipal police officers face disciplinary actions over drunken offenses

In the coastal town of Vandellòs i l'Hospitalet de l'Infant, councilor and local police chief Francisco Javier Ochoa Sanz tested positive for alcohol during a traffic stop. Following the incident, mayor Assumpció Castellví accepted his resignation, though Ochoa later resumed his duties amid political tension within the coalition government.

In Pamplona, a municipal police officer was convicted after stealing a patrol car while intoxicated and transporting four unrestrained minors during the San Fermin festivities. The court imposed fines and a one‑year driving ban, citing severe breaches of traffic safety and vehicle theft laws.
