Spanish municipal summer sports camps draw hundreds of children

In the town of Laracha, the municipal multi‑sport camp ran from Monday to Friday, filling all 50 places for children from early childhood to primary school. Participants tried a wide range of activities—including basketball, volleyball, hockey, rugby, football, handball, archery, padel, tennis, badminton, dodgeball, water games and a closing party. The mayor, José Manuel López Varela, and sports councilor Patricia Bello visited the camp to meet the youngsters.

Meanwhile, Bolaños de Calatrava concluded the fifth edition of its Escuela de Deportes Alternativos, a month‑long summer programme that attracted more than 130 students. The initiative offered non‑traditional sports such as ultimate, tchoukball, floorball, korfball and tripela, alongside workshops on self‑defence, first aid and modern dance, plus bike rides, hikes and a visit to Playa Park. The programme closed with a chess tournament, recycling workshops and a celebratory meal of pizza and churros.
