Spanish municipalities address drainage maintenance and waste management

Municipalities in Spain are addressing local maintenance and cleanliness issues through different approaches. In Onda, the City Council has intensified the cleaning and maintenance of storm drains and drainage network elements. This preventive measure aims to prepare the municipality for upcoming months with a higher risk of heavy rainfall by removing leaves, soil, and debris that could obstruct water evacuation.

In Es Castell, the local Neighbors Association has expressed serious concern regarding the state of cleanliness in the municipality. Residents have reported issues including waste accumulation, dirt, and abandoned furniture. While acknowledging that uncivil behavior contributes to the problem, the association is calling on the City Council to increase education, prevention, surveillance, and sanctions to address the deterioration of the selective collection and door-to-door systems.
