Spanish municipalities advance local art and holiday installations
In Durango, the municipal government is monitoring the progress of the sculpture ‘Durango - Uretatik haratago’ at the workshop of sculptor Víctor Arrizabalaga. Led by Mayor Mireia Elkoroiribe, officials visited the site to observe the work, which is entering its final stages. The piece, designed to reinforce local identity, features a composition inspired by the three-arched bridge from the Durango coat of arms. Installation is planned for mid-December near the Tadu parking area.
In Albacete, preparations have begun for the annual Christmas lighting installation on Calle Ancha. Managed by Iluminaciones Ximénez SA, the display will feature 15 aluminum trees, each 11 meters tall, equipped with LED technology to minimize energy consumption and light pollution. The lights are scheduled to be switched on on November 27. The installation will include a light and sound show in a pedestrian tunnel, occurring five times daily, intended to support local commerce and tourism.
