Spanish municipalities announce heralds for 2026 patron saint festivals
Various Spanish municipalities have announced the heralds for their upcoming 2026 patron saint festivals.
In Alhama de Murcia, Fina Muñoz Romera, known as ‘la Gonzala’, has been selected as the herald for the 2026 Fiestas Patronales. Recognized for her creative character and involvement in local traditions such as music, carnivals, and the Mayos, her official proclamation and ‘chupinazo’ are scheduled for October 3 in the Plaza de la Constitución.
In Aldea del Rey, the 2026 fairs and festivals have officially commenced with a large inaugural ceremony in the Plaza de España. Cellist Juana García López delivered the festival herald speech, marking the start of ten days of celebrations in honor of the Virgen del Valle and Cristo del Consuelo. The event also included the proclamation of the festival's Court of Honor.
