Spanish municipalities announce local safety and parking updates

In Los Alcázares, Spain, the local government has launched a safety campaign for the upcoming solar eclipse on August 12. The municipality will distribute free certified solar viewing glasses and informative brochures at four beach locations: Playa de Los Narejos, Playa de Las Palmeras, Playa del Espejo, and Playa Carrión. The eclipse is expected to show a 98.19% obscuration of the solar disk.

Meanwhile, in Viladecans, Spain, municipal authorities have suspended parking fees for blue, green, and orange zones throughout the month of August. This measure provides over 2,000 free parking spaces to accommodate lower vehicle traffic during the holiday season. However, parking regulations in beach areas will remain in effect, with resident rates continuing until September 21.
