Spanish municipalities announce sports infrastructure projects

Spanish municipalities are moving forward with sports infrastructure projects. In Ciudad Real, the Municipal Sports Board has launched a tender for the renovation of the table tennis area at Quijote Arena. The project, costing 83,000 euros, aims to upgrade the facility to meet national standards, allowing the Ciudad Real Table Tennis Club to host second-division national competitions. The works, which include ceiling and thermal improvements, are scheduled for the Christmas period to avoid disrupting training and official matches.

In Paiporta, the City Council and the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) have reached an agreement to rebuild the El Palleter football field, which was destroyed by the floods on October 29, 2024. The RFEF will fund the project and the technical drafting, while the City Council will provide additional land to ensure the new field meets regulatory dimensions. The proposed facility will feature a 105 by 63-meter pitch along with stands and auxiliary areas.
