Spanish municipalities approve new urban planning measures

Municipal governments in Spain have approved new urban planning measures to address community needs. In Arganda del Rey, the local government has greenlit a special plan to reclassify industrial land for public use. This change will facilitate the development of a new elderly care residence, which is designed to provide comprehensive assistance, including a day center and specialized units for Alzheimer’s, mental health, and chronic illnesses.

In Murcia, the City Council is processing a special urban reordering plan for an industrial zone in Alquerías. This measure aims to protect the historic Casa Colorá, a century-old building recognized as part of the Cultural Heritage of the Region of Murcia. The plan modifies existing urban layouts to ensure the preservation of the landmark, which was previously threatened by proposed public roads and land redistribution projects.
