Spanish municipalities approve urban and cultural renovation projects
Municipal authorities in Spain have approved two significant urban development projects aimed at improving public spaces and mobility.
In Vigo, the City Council has launched a tender for the renovation of Muíño do Vento in the Ribadavia neighborhood. With a budget of 504,802 euros and an eight-month execution period, the project seeks to transform an abandoned 1950s building into a cultural hub. The ground floor will be repurposed for small concerts and recitals, while the exterior works include facade rehabilitation, new gardens, and improved connectivity to the Capuchinos park.
In Culleredo, the local government is investing over 826,000 euros to regenerate Avenida de Fonteculler. Co-financed by the Diputación, the project covers an 860-meter stretch to enhance pedestrian priority and environmental infrastructure. Improvements include new sidewalks, accessible bus stops with tactile paving, upgraded lighting for pedestrian crossings, and the use of integrated materials to accommodate the nearby Camino Inglés route.
