Spanish municipalities invest in new and renovated sports facilities

Several Spanish municipalities are investing in sports infrastructure to expand local athletic offerings and improve existing facilities.

In Cangas del Narcea, new padel courts have opened in La Cortina following an investment of 119,599 euros, partially funded by European Leader program funds. The facilities are certified to host national and international competitions.

Castelldefels is undergoing three separate improvements: repairing and repainting basketball courts at El Burrito, installing a new multi-sport court with artificial grass in La Pineda, and expanding fitness areas at CEM Can Roca.

Tres Cantos has introduced its first pickleball court at the Centro Deportivo Embarcaciones, alongside the renovation of three tennis courts. The tennis courts now feature a synthetic grass surface with ceramic filling designed to mimic clay courts.

In La Pobla del Duc, the local government has acquired a 14,908-square-meter plot in Benifumet to begin planning a new multi-purpose indoor sports pavilion. The facility is intended to support indoor sports such as futsal and volleyball regardless of weather conditions.
