San Fernando and A Coruña face scrutiny over parking and street upgrades

The People's Party (PP) councillor Joaquín Rodríguez Balestra will table a motion at San Fernando's municipal plenary demanding a rigorous evaluation of the city’s “tactical parking” facilities. The motion seeks objective data on whether the redesigns have actually increased parking capacity and stresses that many of the added services – such as electric‑vehicle charging stations, LED information panels and other amenities – are not functioning properly.

In A Coruña, the city council has announced alterations to the controversial rehabilitation of Tomás Fábregas street after weeks of resident protests. While the council will retain the new continuous platform that has drawn the most opposition, it will replace a planned grass‑like surface with pavement and has pledged to study the reduction in parking spaces caused by the project. The work, costing more than €800,000, aims to improve accessibility and may later support building elevators in the buildings along the avenue.
