Spanish municipalities host summer carnival festivities
Several Spanish municipalities are hosting summer carnival celebrations this August.
In Valencia de Don Juan, the third edition of its Summer Carnival begins on August 21. The festivities include a parade through local bars accompanied by the Madrid-based charanga Los Fugitivos, followed by a dance event at the Plaza Mayor featuring the RAW macro-disco. The town council will also host a costume contest for individuals and groups. Additionally, the Aserradero Fest will take place at the Complejo La Isla on Saturday, featuring various DJs, and the Municipal Auditorium will host a comedy festival with performers such as Enrique el Grande and Angelito el Largo.
Zahínos is also preparing for its summer carnival, which has become a consolidated event in the local summer programming. This year's theme departs from the traditional jungle setting to focus on an alien invasion. The celebration, which has been organized by a local association with professional event support since its inception in 2019, will feature a parade accompanied by a DJ platform and a giant elephant.
