Spanish municipalities implement digital service and security upgrades
Several Spanish municipalities are advancing their digital infrastructure through service renewals and security certifications.
In Barcelona, the City Council has updated its Social Services portal to serve as a centralized digital hub for municipal resources and benefits. The redesigned platform focuses on user experience, offering personalized guidance through a question-and-answer system to help citizens navigate social needs and access the Barcelona Social app more intuitively.
Fuenlabrada has successfully revalidated its Medium-category National Security Scheme (ENS) certification for its electronic services. Following a security audit, this certification ensures the protection of data and secure telemetric relations between the local administration and citizens through 2028.
Meanwhile, the Alicante City Council is planning a modernization of its official website. With a tender budget of approximately 120,757 euros, the project aims to improve information accessibility, enhance cybersecurity, and expand linguistic options beyond Spanish and Valencian, while ensuring full compatibility with mobile and tablet devices.
