Spanish municipalities implement road signage and environmental conservation measures
The municipality of Orihuela has launched a tender for the supply of road signage and related materials, with a total investment of 207,000 euros including VAT. The contract covers vertical signs, informative panels, support elements, and road painting to ensure the maintenance and replacement of signage across the municipal territory. The tender is divided into two lots: one for the city center, urban areas, and surrounding districts, and a second specifically for Orihuela Costa.
In Parada de Sil, the local council has installed new informative panels at high-traffic locations to promote environmental conservation. These signs, located at sites such as the Mirador da Columna, provide guidance on best practices like staying on marked paths and managing waste. The initiative, supported by a subsidy from the Rede Natura of the Consellería de Medio Ambiente, aims to protect the local landscape, which is part of a protected ZEP and BIC area.
