Spanish municipalities implement urban greening and pedestrian projects

Municipalities in Spain are advancing urban improvement projects focused on green spaces and pedestrian accessibility.

In Atarfe, the City Council is transforming the area surrounding the Plaza de Toros. The project includes the construction of a new boulevard and the addition of various green zones. The landscaping plan features 11 palm trees, 38 non-fruiting mulberry trees, and over 14 varieties of Mediterranean aromatic plants to increase shade and improve the public space.

In Huelva, the City Council has approved a project for Los Emires street to improve the connection between the Historic Center and Zafra Park. With a budget of approximately 1 million euros, the six-month project will convert 1,509 square meters into a pedestrianized and landscaped area. The plan includes planting large trees such as jacarandas and red ash trees, installing benches, a drinking fountain, and renewing pavements. The redesign will also reorganize parking, providing 71 vehicle spaces and two motorcycle spaces on the southern side of the street.
