Spanish municipalities invest in infrastructure and road safety

Municipalities in Spain are implementing various measures to improve local infrastructure and safety.

The Cartagena City Council has launched a new procurement process for construction materials to support its municipal brigades. With a maximum budget of 40,000 euros including VAT for the first year, the contract aims to ensure a steady supply of materials for maintenance, repairs, and minor works. The range of products includes cement, mortar, ceramics, plumbing supplies, and various metals. By grouping these purchases into a single contract, the council seeks to improve control and benefit from economies of scale.

In Santa Brígida, the local government has carried out a series of road safety improvements throughout July and August. These actions include repairing signage damaged by recent storms, reinforcing high-risk areas, and organizing parking. Significant work has been completed on the municipal road network, including the renewal of 15 kilometers of white lines and over 700 horizontal road markings. Additionally, more than 350 vertical signs and various safety elements, such as metal barriers and speed reducers, have been installed to improve traffic circulation and safety.
