Spanish municipalities launch 2026-2027 sports programs
Municipalities in Spain are launching new sports and health activity programs for the 2026-2027 season.
In Cúllar Vega, the local government has presented an official catalog of sports, recreational, and maintenance activities. The program is designed for all ages, ranging from children to seniors, and will utilize municipal facilities such as the El Ventorrillo Multifunctional Center and the Day Center, alongside local clubs and associations. The initiative aims to promote physical activity and community well-being through various disciplines, including team sports, martial arts, pilates, and hiking.
In Miguelturra, the Municipal Sports Schools have officially begun the 2026/2027 course with 1,148 registered students. The current enrollment includes 767 boys and 381 girls, representing a female participation rate of approximately 33 percent. The program, which runs until May 30, focuses on grassroots sports as a tool for human development and community values. Additionally, local authorities announced that technical studies for a new indoor multi-sport pavilion are complete, with the first phase of construction expected to go to tender soon to meet the needs of both youth schools and professional categories.
