Spanish municipalities launch autumn cultural programs

Municipalities in Spain are launching diverse autumn programming to encourage community engagement and lifelong learning.

In Cartagena, the City Council has announced a program for October, November, and December featuring over 2,000 free places specifically for residents over the age of 60. The initiative includes 49 types of activities such as Tai Chi, ballroom dancing, memory training, emotional management, literature, theater, and technology courses. The program aims to bring activities directly into local neighborhoods and clubs to increase accessibility.

Similarly, Salou has introduced the ‘Salou Actiu Tardor 2026’ initiative, which offers a wide range of cultural, gastronomic, and wellness activities for all ages. The program includes amateur theater, bachata workshops, mosaic making, and chair yoga. It also features specialized sessions on emotional intelligence and traditional culinary workshops, such as learning fisherman-style recipes and rice preparation.
