Spanish municipalities launch community and accessibility initiatives

Various Spanish municipalities are launching community and accessibility initiatives. In Pinto and Valdemoro, the XII 'Entre Pinto y Valdemoro' solidarity march is scheduled for October 8. This non-competitive 7-kilometer walk aims to promote physical activity and social interaction among seniors, with proceeds from t-shirt sales supporting the ‘El Sueño de Vicky’ Foundation to fund childhood cancer research.

In Valencia, the City Council has reintroduced an inclusive QR code to assist people with disabilities in accessing information for the October 9 celebrations. Developed with various accessibility organizations, the tool provides content in sign language, easy-to-read text, and pictograms in both Spanish and Valencian. It also helps users locate reserved spaces for those with reduced mobility during major events.

Móstoles has opened registration for ‘Diverconciliamos’, a fully subsidized Christmas urban camp for children aged 4 to 17 with physical, intellectual, or developmental disabilities. The program, running in late December and early January, includes supervised nutrition and various cultural activities such as museum visits and planetarium trips to support family work-life balance.
