Spanish municipalities launch competitive exams for permanent public roles

Municipalities in Spain are conducting competitive selection processes to fill permanent public service positions.

In Albacete, the City Council has finalized the list of candidates for a single permanent Painter Official position. Following the initial call which attracted 68 people, 63 candidates have been officially admitted to compete for the one available vacancy. The role involves specialized tasks such as surface treatment, maintenance, and the use of various coatings and tools.

In Badajoz, the City Council has launched a larger recruitment process for 17 permanent administrative assistant positions. The call, which includes two spots reserved for people with disabilities, allows for online applications until September 15. This recruitment effort is part of a generational replacement strategy as older staff members retire. Experts suggest the competition could be high, noting that previous administrative calls in the city saw significant numbers of applicants.
