Spanish municipalities launch new municipal sports programs

Municipalities in Spain are launching new sports programs for the 2026-2027 academic year.

In La Roda, the eighth edition of the Multideporte Plan has been presented, specifically targeting children aged 4 to 6. The program offers 44 spots for activities including swimming, triathlon, basketball, chess, football, volleyball, climbing, and golf. Registration is open from September 8 to September 15 via the municipal electronic office. The initiative aims to introduce children to various disciplines in a playful manner to develop motor skills and social values.

In Ortigueira, the local council is offering 613 spots for a wide range of aquatic and land-based activities. The program includes children's swimming, adult swimming, aquagym, maintenance gymnastics, taichi, figure skating, and padel for minors. Interested citizens have until September 18 to apply in person at the municipal pool or the council's general registry. In cases where demand exceeds capacity, spots will be allocated through a public draw.
