Spanish municipalities launch playground renovation projects
Municipalities in Spain are implementing various plans to renovate and improve local playgrounds and public spaces.
In Güéjar Sierra, Mayor Jose Robles announced an integral improvement plan for municipal playgrounds. The first phase, scheduled for 2026–2027, involves an investment exceeding 120,000 euros across three locations: La Hacilla, Era del Llano, and Juez Hermoso. The works include renewing children's furniture, installing shade elements, and improving pavements to enhance safety and comfort.
In Almuñécar, Mayor Juan José Ruiz Joya met with residents of the La Carrera neighborhood as part of the ‘El alcalde en tu barrio’ initiative. The municipality has allocated approximately 40,000 euros for playground improvements in the La Paloma, Las Maravillas, and La Carrera areas. While work in La Paloma and Las Maravillas is complete, the intervention in La Carrera, budgeted at 14,835.50 euros, includes installing new equipment such as themed swings and musical seesaws, alongside safety flooring upgrades.
